THE POSITION

 

 

The Senior Manager Event Marketing is responsible for creating and implementing tailor-made marketing plans to meet and exceed the objectives of the relevant assigned FIFA Competitions, such as FIFA World Cup 26, FIFA Women’s World Cup 27, and FIFA Club World Cups.

 

 

These are your key tasks:

Define, lead, own and manage all marketing planning related to specific assigned FIFA Competitions
Provide strategic direction and consultancy for competition stakeholders including but not limited to ticketing, hospitality, licensing & retail, broadcast services, commercial partnerships, local FIFA subsidiaries, local organizing committees, and host cities
Lead project teams including marketing specialists
Develop clear, concise and inspirational briefs to key support functions, freelancers, agencies, and team members
Develop launches of major brand assets, such as tournament logos, mascots, posters, and songs, as well as oversee multi-stage global and localised awareness and tournament related sales campaigns
Become an expert in FIFA event marketing milestone planning and challenge the status quo and norm with new and creative marketing milestone concepts
Deliver integrated marketing communications and promotional plans using a mixture of online and offline digital, social and traditional media and marketing tools
Connect, engage and inspire fans and consumers with FIFA’s event products and brands
Provide stakeholders with timely and accurate information on promotional and marketing events, activations and opportunities and ensure stakeholders to drive optimisation of the opportunities
Identify, define, communicate and monitor KPIs
Establish and cultivate relationships with key event organisers, functional areas, and all relevant internal and external stakeholders
Brief, guide, manage, challenge marketing consultants and agencies, including budget management
Lead, guide and support FIFA’s local subsidiaries or tournament local organizing committees
Set best in class standards, processes and modus operandi that will guide and inspire future tournaments and events

The specific competencies we require for this position are:

Minimum of 7 years of experience in a Marketing/Communications role or other demonstrable relevant position
Proven track-record in managing complex projects and multiple stakeholders
Experience in the Sports, Events or Entertainment industry (in-house, agency) is an advantage
Bachelor’s degree or similar higher education in Marketing, Communications or other relevant field
Solid and demonstrable marketing expertise, preferably in the sporting, and/or entertainment industry
Solid understanding of the media landscape
Fluent in English, with excellent English writing and presentation skills
Proficient in Office suite and cloud-based productivity tools
Good knowledge of project management tools
Adaptable, effective and efficient under pressure, immovable deadlines, and in stressful situations
Excels in organizing, managing and executing projects of all sizes
Effective working in both team environments or independently, in both management or support roles
Comfortable and confident communicator and proficient in managing up, down and sideways
Self-motivated and eager to take on new challenges
Natural presenter and networker
Willingness to travel extensively and regularly, and/or for the duration of any defined tournament time
