Main goal

 

 

Reporting to the two Legal Counsels responsible for UEFA’s technology and production needs, the Technology & Media Production Lawyer provides legal support to ICT, TV Production & Editorial Content, CRM, Digital and Football Operations.

 

 

 

Key responsibilities

 

 

Providing legal support to:

 

the ICT unit on corporate and event-related ICT supply and implementation arrangements, including tenders and contracts, requiring daily contact with the ICT team
the TV Production & Editorial Content unit with its contractual needs, including contracts for host broadcast operations, graphics services, the production of editorial programming for competitions and editorial services for UEFA’s website and social media channels
the CRM unit in contracting services to assist with consumer data-led initiatives
the Digital unit in the development and operation of UEFA’s websites, OTT service, apps and other digital platforms that support UEFA’s competitions and related sponsorship arrangements
the Football Operations unit with supply contracts for its procurement of match-related technology and data for football education

Assisting the relevant Legal Counsel with commercial rights work such as licensing of archive content

 

Protecting UEFA’s overall interests from a legal and a business affairs perspective

 

Cooperating and communicating with other lawyers in the Commercial & Technology Legal Services unit (and the rest of the Legal Affairs division) to ensure the coordination and consistency of UEFA’s policies and compliance with UEFA’s commercial programmes and projects

 

Cooperating with the Procurement unit, which oversees the application of UEFA’s procurement-related governance regulations and framework

 

 

Requirements

 

 

Experience

 

Two to four years as a practising commercial lawyer

 

Education

 

Undergraduate degree
Relevant professional legal qualification

 

Languages

 

English / Proficient
Languages other than English would be an asset but are not a prerequisite

 

Other requirements

 

Ability to provide clear, concise and practical advice after reviewing a range of documentation
Experience in commercial contract drafting and negotiation, and understanding of commercial business drivers
Solid understanding of intellectual property, IT and privacy laws (working knowledge of GDPR matters would be an asset but is not of primary importance as this function is not responsible for data protection policy or compliance)
Interest in and knowledge of legal operations and processes
Excellent drafting, negotiating and communications skills in English
Ability to build relationships and work with cross-functional teams
Team spirit, client-orientation, professionalism
Good judge of situations and risks
