FIBA, with global headquarters in Mies/VD Switzerland, is the world governing body of basketball and an independent association formed by 212 National Basketball Federations throughout the world.

 

 

FIBA has a truly global reach with five Regional Offices worldwide to support National Federations in their efforts to develop Basketball on the ground. FIBA is a non-profit organisation and recognised as the ultimate authority in basketball by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

 

 

The FIBA Equipment & Venue Centre currently represents around 150 global partners in equipment & sports software technology and is strongly committed to expanding its reach by opening new categories and establishing a stronger presence. In this role, you will serve as a commercial representative.

 

 

Your primary responsibility will be to play a fundamental role supporting FIBA’s partnership with Genius Sports. In your role you are expected to develop a deep understanding of the suite of technical applications for statistics (data) & video collection that are part of the partnership. Also, the contribution to the ongoing development of those applications is part of the primary responsibilities whereby you are expected to represent the National Federations requirements. In parallel you will contribute the further development and expansion of the FIBA Approval label in our technological categories.

 

 

You will report to the Head of the Equipment & Venue Centre and work closely with colleagues at the FIBA House of Basketball in Mies, Switzerland

 

 

 

 

Main task and responsibilities:

 

 

 

Collaborating closely with Genius Sports to innovate, refine, and promote co-branded products and services in the sports technology industry, particularly in sports data collection and distribution.
Independently planning tasks related to collaborative marketing initiatives.
Proactively identifying and staying ahead of technical advancements and market trends in sports technology and communicating these insights within the Equipment & Venue Centre.
Ensuring the seamless and efficient processing of administrative information to all stakeholders.
This role requires frequent travel, constituting at least 50% of the work schedule.

 

 

« Prospect to Partner » phase activities:

 

Monitor leads related to the partnership in collaboration with Genius Sports.
Maintain an accurate and up-to-date prospect list and make this database available to the team.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date key performance indicators and distribute them on demand.
Propose and monitor communications surrounding the partnership.
Ensure that all expectations are met during the onboarding process.
Support partners in liaising with other partners, providing necessary training on equipment usage if required.
Keep track of all project stages and resolve any disturbances.

 

 

Communication:

 

Act as the – the first in line – contact person for your counter partner at Genius Sports.
Initiate regular and general communication within the FIBA communities.
Certify that all correspondence is responded on time.

 

 

 

 

Experience and skills:

 

 

 

University degree
Previous experience in a commercial role in the (Sports) Software as a Service industry is necessary
Previous experience in an International Federation is a plus
Understanding of Sports Media, Marketing landscape
Available to work Full time and
Available to travel 50% of the time

 

Language

English (fluent level in speaking & writing)
French is a plus
Spanish is a plus
